MP backs biodiesel tax break project

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a campaign to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.
Producers transforming cooking oil into biodiesel currently take advantage of a 20p differential however that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a variety of small companies in Cornwall presently generate income from used cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this type of market going it does need just a little bit of lift which can be found in the type of tax inescapable."
Biodiesel is a mix of standard diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
